This class is a Police Training Commission approved course designed for officers who plan to teach at commission approved police academies and/or in their respective departments. The course is designed to develop teaching and public speaking skills through planned presentations. The participants learn to select appropriate teaching methods, establish goals, prepare performance objectives, and develop and use lesson plans. An overview of the principles of learning, classroom management, and the selection and use of training aids will be discussed. Students are required to successfully complete their presentations to receive certifications. Presentations will be evaluated. Jacket and tie dress code for men and business attire for women are strictly enforced in this class and full attendance of all seven days is mandatory. All students must bring an 8GB USB Drive.
