This eighty-hour course is designed as a follow-up to Crash Investigation 1 for professional traffic accident investigators. To enroll, officers must have completed Crash Investigation 1. The objective of this course is to develop skills in technically preparing accident investigation data and collecting follow-up data required by prosecutors, defense attorneys, claim adjusters, reconstructionists and highway safety engineers. The emphasis is on vehicle damage analysis and vehicle behavior in accidents. Applicants will again need scientific calculators and must bring the hardback “Traffic Accident Investigation Manual” issued at the CI-1 course. Also, advanced algebra skills are required to successfully complete the course.
