Middlesex County Area Transit (MCAT) is submitting a grant application for $300,000.00, to NJ Transit in connection with the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, (CRRSAA) and American Rescue Plan Act, (ARPA) to use for salary reimbursement of the on-demand and deviated-fixed route transportation services’ employees. Such services include but are not limited to Demand-Response transportation for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities of Middlesex County, and (2) Deviated-Fixed Community Shuttles.
While Middlesex County municipalities provide their own transportation services, they are unrelated to those offered by our agency. Furthermore, there are no other non-profit organizations within the vicinity of Middlesex County that could feasibly serve as a substitute for our county transportation services.
