Finding Aid Follies

Local historians, librarians, and archival professionals are invited to attend Finding Aid Follies, a workshop led by Tara Maharjan of the New Jersey State Archives. The workshop will take place on Sunday, October 20 from 2 pm to 3 pm at East Jersey Old Town Village located at 1050 River Road. Tara will focus on arrangement and description techniques for archival collections, with an emphasis on developing effective finding aids to improve collection access. Attendees will receive a beginner’s overview of processing strategies that can streamline their work and ensure collections are easier to use and navigate. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register due to limited space.

Wash and Learn

wash and learn

Select Wednesdays each month

We are excited to share this innovative bilingual (Spanish-English) program called Wash and Learn. This creative literacy program organized by Roosevelt Elementary School in New Brunswick provides books for children of all ages, as well as adults. All donations are housed at a local laundromat to encourage students to read while parents are doing their laundry.

To donate books to New Brunswick’s Wash and Learn program, please contact Anne-Marie Riveaux McMahon at
anne-marie_mcmahon@nbpsnj.net and Maritza Acevedo at maritza_acevedo@nbpsnj.net.
