Parks and Recreation Public Hearing

TAKE NOTICE that the County of Middlesex has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing to divert 0.291 acres (12,676 sq ft) of land for a permanent easement within the Scotts Corner Preservation Area, located within a portion of Block 2, Lot 2.042, in South Brunswick Township, near Rowland Road and Broadway Road. The minor diversion is for a permanent easement for the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of a new public water supply well, well house, and distribution connections. The compensation for the proposed diversion is replacement land. The Township of South Brunswick proposes to acquire 11.010 acres of land (Block 1, Lots 3.01 and 4.01) adjacent to Rowland Park, which will be dedicated to conservation and/or recreation purposes.

 

In accordance with New Jersey Governor Murphy’s Public Health Emergency Executive Orders concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing required by N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.6(c) to solicit public comment on the proposed minor diversion of the Scotts Corner Conservation Area will be held remotely via the “Zoom” platform on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. All interested parties are invited to attend and participate in the hearing via the following options:
