WHAT: The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, under the approval of Superior Court Assignment Judge Michael Toto, will be conducting an active shooter drill at the Family Courthouse on Friday, November 1, at 12 pm. The drill is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the preparedness of law enforcement and courthouse personnel in the event of an emergency.
Sheriff’s Officer Jack Humphrey will supervise the drill's set-up, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols. Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital will be present to assist as needed.
The public should know that the drill will not disrupt the filing of emergent matters. During this time, sheriff’s officers will guide the public and attorneys to the Middlesex County Courthouse, located at 56 Paterson Street, New Brunswick, for any urgent legal proceedings.
