The Middlesex County Business Summit is an annual event for business owners, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and executives of high-growth companies located in the County and the surrounding area. In addition to important discussions around key industry topics such as how technology is reshaping the business world; new ways businesses are appealing to customers; and how micro and small businesses can gain access capital, this year’s Business Summit was designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to meet and network with their peers; share best practices; find new customers and investors; and discuss emerging market trends.

This session provided the knowledge and advice to help craft the “story” of your business. Attendees learned how local and national businesses are finding and leveraging the right resources to develop innovative ways to connect with new audiences and increase customer loyalty as well as their bottom line.

Breakout Session: Getting Access to Funding – Traditional Lending Edition
Several financial executives discussed different loan products available to small business owners looking to start or expand their businesses. This session covered the spectrum of borrowers from new-to-credit businesses to those looking to finance larger or more mature operations. Topics included start -up loans, micro-loans, private commercial loans, non-traditional loans, and SBA-backed loans.

Breakout Session: Getting Access to Funding – Venture Capital Edition
Venture capital investors discussed the factors that matter when evaluating a business they invest in. Attendees learned what VCs value most and how they determine if your company is a good investment, as well as the importance of intangibles and non-financial aspects that may help put your business ahead of the curve.“What you should be looking for is good partner. Afternoon Panel | Tomorrow’s Workforce—Today’s Challenges Pioneering business leaders know their employees are key stakeholders in their success, and they develop a culture and value proposition that creates a shared sense of purpose. Attendees heard from top employers and labor experts about the policies, programs, and attitudes that help companies attract and retain top talent.
