Introducing Middlesex County’s Telehealth Program, a new, community-based program focused on education and increasing access to bilingual telemedicine choices. Partnerships with local organizations and healthcare providers in Perth Amboy, Carteret, and New Brunswick will ensure telehealth healthcare options are safe, confidential, and discrete, helping those in need, specifically those with limited insurance options. 

Use the devices available at the Telehealth Hubs to connect with healthcare providers to help determine the first steps of your care. Telehealth offers all the benefits of a doctor’s visit with ease and efficiency, convenience and discretion, and HIPAA compliancy. Your commute should never get between you and your healthcare. Middlesex County is establishing telehealth hub locations in your community. Free internet and tech assistance are available in both English and Spanish to maximize your experience with a Telehealth provider. Access to healthcare benefits everyone, and telehealth is a step toward preventative care and a healthier community. 

The Telehealth Hubs are designed to provide the help and technology needed to connect to your virtual appointments with a Physician, Specialist and/or healthcare provider.

Hackensack Meridian Health

  • Convenient Care provides 24 hours a day/7 days a week on-demand video visits with board-certified physicians within 15 minutes or less. Patients can explore over 600 available virtual-care providers in Perth Amboy, Carteret, and New Brunswick. Available via website or mobile app.
    • Offers care for: colds, the flu, allergy treatment, pink eye, urinary tract infections, and determining need for COVID-19 testing.

Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health

  • MyChart allows patients an easy way to schedule same-day appointments based on specialty and type of appointment. Individuals have the option to connect with a primary care doctor or a specialist online or by phone.
    • Offers care for: specialty doctors such as bariatrics, family medicine, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, and more.
  • Virtual Urgent Care is a phone app offering unlimited telemed visits with on-call doctors 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year.
    • Offers care for: abdominal pain, joint pain or strains, chest pain/pressure, uncontrolled bleeding, sudden/severe pain, coughing/vomiting blood, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, sudden dizziness, weakness, change in vision, slurred speech, numbness, other neurological changes, severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea, changes in mental status, assault, physical or sexual abuse, and broken bones.
  • Health Connect lets individuals search and schedule appointments by physician listing with several search options (Zip code, Insurance, Locations, Symptoms, etc.).

Saint Peter’s University Hospital

  • TeleGenetics provides genetic counseling, genetic metabolic dietician counseling for inborn errors of metabolism, and appropriate genetic evaluations and consultations
    • Offers additional care for: cancer, prenatal, neurogenetics, metabolic, lysosomal storage diseases, general adult and pediatric care.

Summit Oaks Hospital

  • We Are Here to Help You! Now offering telehealth services for those who
    have are struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues. Call 800-753-5223 for a no-cost, confidential assessment that can be scheduled 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
  • Offering: Intensive Outpatient Programs for mental health treatment for depression, anxiety, anger, mood disorders, impulsive behavior, grief, loss, substance use (alcohol, opioids, etc.).

George J. Otlowski, Sr. Center

  • The George J. Otlowski, Sr. Center for Mental Health Care: If you or someone you know needs additional support, please don't hesitate to call 732-442-1666.  We have telehealth appointments available Monday through Friday 8:30 am until 4:15 pm with extended hours on Tuesday and Thursday until 9:00 pm.
  • Offering: We offer treatment for a wide range of emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, marital and family issues, and other problems of daily living. The center serves Middlesex County residents ages 5 and up.
    •  Our Outpatient department offers individual and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors via telehealth platforms in addition to chronically mentally ill adults via virtual groups and individual sessions in our Partial Care program. Currently, the wait for an intake appointment for a new client is less than a week and the wait for a psychiatric appointment for an active client at the Center is less than 2 weeks.
