Bike Easy. Walk Safely., Middlesex County’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan establishes a countywide bicycle and pedestrian network and proposes policies, practices, and projects designed to enhance facilities for people to walk and bike. Over the last decade, interest in active transportation and demand for safe and convenient infrastructure have increased substantially. New guidance supports protected bicycle lanes, updated signals, and safety interventions. More recently, innovative technologies such as e-bikes and e-scooters have come to market.

Bike Easy. Walk Safely. will map current infrastructure, identify gaps in the network, recommend future routes, incorporate leading practices, propose innovative programs and policies, and provide a framework for future investments that make it easier and safer for County residents to walk and bike.
