Strong Farming. Local Foods., Middlesex County’s Comprehensive Farmland Preservation Plan, provides an overview and assessment of the agricultural industry in Middlesex County. Farms are targeted for preservation based on criteria developed by the State Agriculture Development Committee. To date, approximately 5,500 acres of County farmland have been permanently protected.

Strong Farming. Local Foods. will target specific County farms for future preservation, support the County’s existing and future growers, promote agricultural development and sustainability, and ensure that the County remains eligible for state funding to support future preservation.
