Thompson Park Disc Golf Course

Eagle Scout Brings Disc Golf to Thompson Park

Disc Golf CourseBuilt by Eagle Scout Candidate, David Wolverton (Boy Scout Troop 132), the new 18-hole championship disc golf course is an exciting new addition to Middlesex County’s existing recreation opportunities. The course-located in Thompson Park in Monroe Township-was designed by NJ’s only certified disc golf course designer, Adam Harris. “I am confident that many residents will enjoy this unique addition to Thompson Park.” says Ronald G. Rios, Director of the Board of County Commissioners.

Disc golf originated in 1976. Play is similar to the traditional game of golf. In disc golf, players throw plastic discs (ex. Frisbees) into a basket for the lowest possible score.

“This is a fun and exciting new feature for our parks,” says County Commissioner Charles E. Tomaro. “I’m thrilled that one of our young residents took on this project and is opening up a new recreational avenue to our residents.”
