Register to Vote
To participate in Middlesex County elections, you must be registered to vote in Middlesex County.
Make sure you’re eligible to vote:
- You must be a citizen of the United States.
- You must be at least 18 years old at the time of the election.
(You may submit your registration at 17 or older.) - You must be a resident of New Jersey and your county at least 30 days before the election date.
- You must not be declared mentally incompetent by a court.
- You must not be incarcerated.

After completing the online form, please keep in mind that the Middlesex County Board of Elections will need to verify information in order to process your application. High-volume periods, such as right before the deadline, will delay verification but will not impact your registration. - BY MAIL: Send your Voter Registration Application to the Board of Elections. Check the Status of Your Registration
You should update your voter registration if:
- you are a new resident of Middlesex County.
- you’ve moved within Middlesex County since the last time you voted
- you’ve legally changed your name since the last time you voted
- you want to declare or change your political party affiliation
Need to cancel your voter registration?
- you’ve moved out of state or to a different country
- you no longer wish to be a registered voter
You can also cancel the voter registration of a recently deceased family member or a prior homeowner who no longer resides at your address.

If you have moved outside of Middlesex County, but still reside in New Jersey, you should complete a Voter Registration form in your new county to transfer your voter registration to your new address.
