Per N.J.S.A. 19:63-10(a), the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office is required to maintain a list, which is updated daily, of voters whose application for a Mail-In Ballot was approved and were sent their ballot, and per N.J.S.A. 19:63- 10(b), the Middlesex County Board of Elections is required to maintain a list of voters who have returned their voted mail-in ballot. These lists are available as a joint list named the “(Election) VBM List”. Additionally, per N.J.S.A. 19:15A-3, the Middlesex County Board of Elections is required to make available to the public a tally of the total number of voters, including their names, who have cast a ballot at each early voting location during the previous day. This is a separate list named “(Election) Early Voting List”. The Ballot Cure Act, P.L. 2020, c.70 established a cure process for mail-in and provisional ballots that are either missing a signature or the signature does not match the signature in the voter’s voting record. A list named “(Election) Cure Letter List” will be made public of the voter’s who were mailed a cure letter form. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:52-3.1, each polling place shall publicly display a notice containing an official count of the cumulative number of voters who have voted at each precinct every two hours after the opening of the polls. A list named “(Election) 2 Hour Tally List” will be made available during Primary and General Elections.
Election Lists
Access to the lists described in this section, will require a Request Form to be submitted. The Request Form will be provided below when it becomes available. Once complete, a PASSWORD will be emailed to the requestor. The password, placed on the file for security reasons, will enable the Microsoft Excel file to be fully opened. The vote by mail list is published daily once the ballots are mailed and the early voting list is published once daily during the early voting period. Cure letter lists are published after Commissioner review dates leading up to the election. 2 Hour Tally Lists will be on display at each polling location and will be made available electronically every two hours during election day. The same password is used every day for all files in the same election.
