Home MenuPublic Input for Opioid Settlement Funding
Middlesex County is seeking public input on the use of Opioid Settlement Funds.
As you may know, states and local governments ― including Middlesex County ― have won damages through a federal settlement from various pharmaceutical companies across the opioid supply chain. This funding will continue for 18 years and must be used to help individuals and communities impacted by the opioid epidemic through treatment, prevention, harm reduction, workforce development, and education, etc.
Middlesex County has long been at the forefront of efforts to address the opioid crisis. And, while the true cost of the opioid epidemic cannot be calculated, opioid settlement funds will allow Middlesex County to sustain and strengthen our ongoing response, as we continue to offer innovative strategies to end the opioid overdose epidemic.
Middlesex County needs your input to help determine how best to allocate these funds. If you have an idea or recommendation for a program or service that you think would help to effectively address the opioid epidemic, please share your thoughts on this critical matter.
This public comment opportunity opens on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day, and closes on October 31, 2024.
Don’t miss the opportunity to help plan for this crucial funding!
