Accessibility Services

The Arts Institute of Middlesex County (AIMC) is committed to enabling all individuals to experience its public events, programs, and sites. Access services will be provided at no charge to allow the fullest level of participation possible.

The services of a certified sign language interpreter or captioning provider are available upon request, provided two weeks advance notice. Audio descriptions or Braille are available upon request, provided two weeks advance notice. Printed materials can be made available in large print upon request. Printed material for exhibits at the Cornelius Low House is provided in Braille without prior request. Assistive listening devices are available for all in-person programming upon request. All in-person technical assistance workshops and programs held at the Tavern building located at East Jersey Old Town Village offer assistive listening systems without prior request. Current grantee organizations may borrow portable assistive listening devices for grant-funded public programming, provided two weeks advance notice.

AIMC will gladly assist individuals with disabilities in program registration or grant application preparation. The use of a computer can also be arranged at AIMC or municipal libraries. Translation requests for the grant guidelines are available upon request, provided at least four weeks advance notice.

Service animals are welcome at public programs. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities (U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division). For more information on service animals, please visit: ADA.gov
