The Mission of the Department of Public Safety and Health is to ensure the safety and health of all Middlesex County residents and its citizenry through protection, services, response, and education.

The Office hosts throughout the year, a number of Public Safety Outreach programs such as the PSA "Don't Drive Dangerously" contest, Middlesex County Comprehensive Traffic Safety Program, and FEMA Holiday Fire Safety Guidelines.

Organizations can also book rooms to rent at the Fire Academy, reserve training, reserve HAZMAT Demonstration, and a whole host of training opportunities.

Offices

Adult Correction & Youth Services
The Middlesex County Office of Adult Corrections and Youth Services currently operates three (3) facilities on Route 130 in North Brunswick. This is also the site of the County Solar farm with over 25,000 solar panels. Warden Cranston assumed control effective June 1, 2014 and is now responsible in overseeing the Adult Correction Center, Juvenile Detention Center and the Youth Shelter Program.

Emergency Management & Preparedness
The Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management is committed to coordinating response activities and assistance in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey; to prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the effects of any emergency caused by natural, man-made or technological disasters or a national security crisis. Prosecutor's Office
The Middlesex County Prosecutor is the chief law enforcement officer in the county. The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO) is the nucleus of the County's Criminal Justice System, working in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, the Judicial and Correctional Systems, as well as the citizens within the County's communities.

Sheriff
The primary duty of the Sheriff is the Security of the County Courthouses and protecting all personnel assigned to these facilities. This function is one of several duties mandated by the New Jersey Constitution. Some other examples of the duties carried out by the Sheriff that impact the daily lives of Middlesex County residents are as follows: The Transportation division is responsible for transporting inmates to and from the courthouse as well as to and from other law enforcement departments and correctional facilities throughout the state.

Fire Academy
The Middlesex County Fire Academy is a 26 acre, state-of-the-art training facility conveniently located in Central New Jersey. Our facility, located at 1001 Fire Academy Drive, Sayreville, NJ 08872 is easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway, New Jersey Turnpike as well as other major highways.

Division of Consumer Affairs and Weights & Measures
Consumer Affairs The Office of Consumer Affairs is responsible for protecting the interests of consumers by serving as an advocate for their safety and economic well-being and by promoting legal and ethical standards of professional conduct. Weights & Measures The Office of Weights and Measures is responsible for maintaining all regulatory standards, testing, and inspection activity to set and enforce standards in the commercial trade within the county.
