Middlesex County Network Operations Center (NOC)

The Network Operations Center (NOC) is a state-of-the-art facility developed by Middlesex County to serve as the central operations hub for the various smart initiatives aimed at implementing cutting-edge technologies in the day-to-day delivery of County services; positioning the County as a leader in Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technology development; and attracting and retaining technology companies and a highly skilled workforce to the larger region.

The NOC will integrate County initiatives, such as the DataCity (autonomous and smart mobility initiative), Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), Building Automation and Management System (BAMS), Asset Management, Public Safety, and Stormwater Management.

Middlesex County has created the Network Operations Center to lead research and development of transportation technologies in collaboration with Rutgers University’s Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT); monitor and manage countywide operations of the initiatives from one central location; and improve resource synchronization and service delivery.

The Middlesex County Network Operations Center is currently located in Piscataway, with plans to relocate to the HELIX (Health and Life Sciences Exchange) campus in Downtown New Brunswick in 2026.
