Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Robert Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department announced today that a Keansburg man was charged in connection with a murder that occurred in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township.
Yesterday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 4:49 P.M., authorities received a call requesting a welfare check at a residence on Paul Street in the Fords section of Woodbridge. Upon their arrival, Woodbridge Police Officers discovered April Duncza, 39, of the Fords section of Woodbridge, with serious head trauma. Duncza was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation led by Detective Eric Manresa of the Woodbridge Police Department and Detective Javier Morillo of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined early on that this was not a random act of violence and the perpetrator Kevin Bacon, 46, of Keansburg, knew the victim and had a previous relationship with her.
The investigation led to Kevin Bacon being arrested without incident today, November 30, 2023, and charged with one count of first-degree Murder. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a Pre-Trial detention hearing.
Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to call Detective Manresa of the Woodbridge Police Department at 732-634-7700 or Detective Morillo the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at 732-745-8843.
