Fall Prevention Programs
Currently, older adults and adults with disabilities across Middlesex County have opportunities to participate in two in person, evidence-based fall prevention programs. Virtual programming will be available Fall 2024.
Bingocize
Bingocize® is a 10-week, fall prevention program, played twice a week and led by trained coaches, that combines exercise and fall prevention education with the familiar game of bingo - a fun way to get moving and socializing. Each session lasts 45-60 minutes.
For additional information about Bingocize, visit https://www.ncoa.org/article/evidence-based-program-bingocize
A Matter of Balance (MOB)
A Matter of Balance (MOB) is specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels for older adults. The program includes eight two-hour classes presented to a group of 8-12 participants led by trained coaches. Participants learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity levels, make small changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
For additional information about MOB, visit https://www.ncoa.org/article/evidence-based-program-a-matter-of-balance
Both programs are currently available in-person at local Middlesex County locations. Registration is required. For further information and/or to register for a class, please call:
