The Regional Planning and Local Technical Assistance Group is responsible for overseeing Destination 2040, Middlesex County’s Comprehensive Plan, which is built on Strategic Initiatives and Action Plans. The Group is responsible for ensuring consistency across all the Comprehensive Plan Elements (Functional Plans). This Group ensures that Middlesex County’s Comprehensive Plan is consistent with state planning policies and as such is deserving of State plan endorsement, which gives the County priority for grants from State agencies. The Group also provides local technical assistance to the municipalities. Input from the municipalities guides the Group’s technical assistance decisions, including the hosting of special events on topics of interest to the region.
