Sustainability & Resiliency

ThompsonParkThe Sustainability & Resiliency Group carries out a wide range of planning functions and programs relating to land use, environmental, and infrastructure issues in Middlesex County. The Group provides staff support to a wide array of sustainability and resiliency-based projects and initiatives for the Office of Planning, including the Middlesex County Farmland Preservation Program, various water resources initiatives such as the Water Quality Management Planning Program, the Manalapan Brook Restoration Program, and efforts related to stormwater management and flood mitigation. Staff also prepares updates to related elements of Middlesex County’s Comprehensive Master Plan, Destination 2040. The Sustainability & Resiliency Group also conducts environmental and functional planning reviews required by other divisions and agencies under various regulations. Additionally, the Group provides staff support to various County boards and groups, such as the Middlesex County Agriculture Development Board (CADB), the Lower Raritan-Middlesex County Water Resources Association (LR-MC WRA), and the Middlesex County CRS/MS4 Assist User Group.
