The Board of County Commissioners is sponsoring free swimming lessons for all second graders in Middlesex County.

Middlesex County is providing a pilot grant program to municipalities offering free swim lessons for children ages 7 to 9 years old and in 2nd grade during the current 2023-2024 school year.  Through this pilot program, each participating municipality has identified a partner pool that will provide the lessons.  All registration will be completed through the contacts provided by each municipality and posted to their website and the county website.  This age group was specifically chosen through discussions and insights from existing community swim lesson programs throughout the County.  Based on the success of this pilot program, the County will continue to seek additional opportunities for funding and expansion of the program.  Beyond this County program, residents of all ages are encouraged to take advantage of available community programs that offer swimming and water safety lessons.

How to Participate?

All second-grade age residents of Middlesex County will be able to participate in this program at any of our participating pools around the County at no cost to the families. Contact your nearest pool below to sign up!
