County Agriculture Development Board

Indyk2The primary purpose of the Middlesex CADB is to encourage and facilitate the preservation and stewardship of the County’s remaining farmland through processing landowner’s applications for admittance into the Farmland Preservation Program. This is done in accordance with adopted County and state policies as well as sound planning principles. Farmland Preservation is achieved through purchasing development easements on farmland, thus placing agricultural deed restrictions on participating properties, forever prohibiting non-farm development. The Garden State Preservation Trust Fund and County and local open space funds provide critical dollars needed to protect the County’s agricultural base from the threat of development. For more information or to download an application, please visit the Farmland Preservation Process page.
